I. MATERIALS
TO BE USED
You may choose your own cloth. It
is preferable to use material that does not wrinkle.
II. WHITE UNIFORM FOR WOMEN
A. The white part of the uniform can be either a dress or a
skirt and blouse.
1. Skirt
a. The piece
between the waist and the hips is usually between 12 and 15 cm
and unpleated so that it is not bulky (and we look fatter than
we are).
b. Normally the skirt overlaps in front. You may close
it however you wish (velcro, snaps etc.). What is important is
to leave it open for easy ironing.
c. Any lenght bellow the knees is
allowable.
d. The size of the pleats is variable, in Mapia the style
is small pleats.
e. If you use small pleats, we recommend
to use a lot of material and make a full skirt so that it is not
tight around the hips.
2. Blouse
a. The blouse buttons up in front.
b. Long sleeves with or without cuffs.
c. Simple button down collar
d. It is recommended
that the blouse is more or less close-fitting through the bust
and waist with darts in the front and back.
3. Dress
a. The upper part of the dress is the same as the blouse
and ends about 10-12 cm bellow the waist
b. The skirt
follows the lines of the buttons of the top. Usually it is closed
with snaps or velcro but this is up to you.
B. The green part is composed of a saiote (little skirt) and
sashes.
1. Saiote (1. in diagram)
a. The lenght of the saiote is equal to the width of the open hand
of the user of the uniform; not including the waistband (adults
are usually about 20 cm)
b.The size of the pleats is up to
you, in Mapia the tendency is towards small pleats.
c. The saiote
overlaps in fornt and closes on the side and is, like the skirt,
open.
2. Sashes, side bands and ribbons
a. The sashes and sidebands are all the same width
b.The width depends on the size of the person, usually 5-7 cm.
c. The sidebands attach to the end of the saiote and run down the
sides of the skirt. They are the same lenght as the skirt (8.
in diagram)
d. The colored ribbons (5. in diagram) are the same lenght
as the skirt.
e. The type of material, number and
color of the ribbons is left to personal preference. No red or
black ribbons please.
3. Position of sashes (2.
in diagram)
a. Women.
1. The sashe is draped diagonally
from the outside of the left shoulder, closing about 5cm below
the waist on the right side. Where the two ends come together
below the waist, the sashes cross; a bow is palced here in the
center (see diagram).
2. The arm (3. in diagram) is sewn two fingers above the
bustline and continues untill about one inch on the backside of
the shoulder.
3. The ribbons should be attached
on the left shoulder underneath the sash. You can sew them in
or make the removable.
b. Girls
1. The sash
is draped diagonaly over the right shoulder crossing beneath the
waist on the left side. The arm goes over the left shoulder (see
diagram).
2. The ribbons are attached on the underneath side of the
arm on the left.

b. shoes are white
c. sandals are not used
III. WHITE UNIFORM FOR MEN
The men's uniform is composed of a white dress suit, white dress shirt,
navy blue tie and white shoes and socks.
1. The pants
The pants have two thin green lines
that run down their sides. These lines are about 1 cm on each

It is preferable to use white sweaters or jackets, however various

of jackets open in the front (not pullovers)
C.
For both men and women, the shirts of the blue and white uniforms
are tucked in.
D. Women should use slips with both their blue and
white uniforms.
E. It is not official for
women to use regular white shirt with their blue uniform skirt
and pin on the stars
F. It is not necessary for women to use their
stars when they use their uniform shirts as the emblem is already
on the pocket
G. Men and women need to use
their ties for official works only (starworks, concentration works,
official churchworks and mass)
